Commercials were the first type of voice over I ever recorded. I was a sales rep at an Oldies station in Cincinnati, and when they first launched their weekly on air lineup was all male. So if a client needed a female voice and couldn’t wait for the weekend female announcer…the production staff was in a bind. Since there was no pressure (I mean…it wasn’t MY job), when they asked me to give it a try I thought it sounded like fun! And…something clicked for me when I stepped up to the microphone. I remember thinking, ‘How cool would it be to do this as my full time job!”. Well…here I am just a few years later…and it IS my full time job!
